As the subject line indicates, trying to replace the firing pin on a Model 43 Winchester and I am running into a bit of difficulty removing the old one.
For those who have, had or worked on one, the breech-plug (back of bolt, large slot recess cut into it for use of screwdriver to remove) seems to be locked in with a retaining pin. Now, before I start hammering away on this pin, is it like a roll-pin? Interference fit for keeping the plug from backing out? Or is it press-fit and therefore will need a press to remove?
