Winchester Model 63 - looking for info (2nd try)

Ok, my computer had a glitch just as I tried to post this thread momemts ago. Sorry for the confusion.

My supervisor has owned a 22LR Winchester Model 63 for decades and is interested in its history and its value (he isn't planning on selling it).

So, what can you guys tell me about this beautiful rifle? From what little research I've done so far, this gun appears to be a real keeper! Makes me wish I had one. The serial # is 48721, which I believe was manufactured in 1942, but please confirm.

A picture is provided below; as you can see, it is in excellent condition (mechanically flawless as well):

According to the Blue Book of Gun Values 1942 would be correct.

They put the high number for 1941 at 47,708 and the high number for 1942 at 51,258

Thanks for the info. I let my bossman know today, he seemed pretty pleased. He's had the gun for 30 years and it has never had a FTF or any other glitch.

Anyone else?
