I am looking hard at plunking down $500 of my hard earned $$$ for a good .243 Bolt Action. I came across the Coyote at a local gunshop used for that amount. Looks like new and the bore is bright and shiny. Does anyone own or have an opinion of this rifle? I plan to use it for Deer Hunting (I have had really good luck with .243 on Whitetails in the past) and plinking at 3-500 yards.

Is there a better option for the money ?

I have that very gun. Also have a Coyote in .223.

I'm quite fond of them. Never had any problems with either one. They shoot well. Barrell is heavy enough to be afair varmint rifle, not so heavy that you can't carry the thing.

I don't have one, nor have I fired one, but it's is certainly worth a look. It's one of those hybids that USRAC makes, the "Controlled Round Push Feed."

FWIW, noted custom riflemaker Charlie Sisk listed his personal rifles on another forum a couple of months ago. They were all Winchester push feed actions.

techmike,

I've had one for several years which I am trying to sell (see the forsale forum here if interested).

Mine shoots MOA or less with a bunch of different loads- the best was te 70gr Ballistic Tip at about 3200fps (a moderate load). For shooting at ranges over 300 yards, consider using a scope with external elevation adjustment turrets.
