Miroku made "Winchester" in 30/40, which I consider to be a perfect round for the 1895.
Here she is at the ENGC 300 yard range---
The carbine performed well enough at the 200 yard sight bottom, but raising the slider one step, I was firing to right and left of the 300 yard gong and those shots outnumbered the hits.
Maybe it was the north wind blowing in my face, or maybe I just can't see the sights well enough anymore.
At any rate, whether it was my eyes or the short sight radius, we can probably all agree that the 1800 yard mark on the rear sight ladder is ridiculously optimistic.
Loads of fun to shoot, though.
