well i bought a box from walmart for 6 bucks and i thought id share. i used to be a normal user of the value pack shells until i realized they were junk and they started stocking federal for the same price at walmart. now these super target are not much, if any better in my mossberg 500. the hulls feel weak, and each time i pulled the slide back there was some resistance, it was alot harder then when i shoot the federal cheap shells. anyone else use these?

Super X?

Or something else?

I can't keep track of Winchester's different lines of ammo! I think they should label them: Trash Grade, Usable Grade, and Target Grade.

I've been using Super X 20 Gauge for hunting, in a semi and an O/U and it's been all right.

yes...when I shoot the winchester stuff it almost feels like it jams when I go to pull the slide. However the federal or anything else works flawlessly...so smooth

Sounds like the Winchester Universal shells - and they ARE junk....IF you're going to buy wally world cheap stuff, at least get the Federal promos - they're the least junk of the three and will do a decent job for close targets.

Otherwise, if you have a Dick's, watch for when they put Remington Gun Clubs on sale - they'll be as cheap or cheaper than wally world, and the shells are better and they reload great also

Don't ask, you don't need to know, if you see one don't stop.

There's always plenty of parking at Dick's. :)

Do you play golf? Need a fleece sleeping bag with your local college logo? I buy Columbia canvas slacks there for half price, that's about it.

i think the super targets are supposed to be a notch up from the universals (which are total crap, they have made me blame many guns for having ejection/extraction problems when it was just the junk ammo) im defiantly a federal guy, in the last 5 years every gun ive had i ran only federal through for the most part, ive never had one misfire or ejection problem with federal even there cheap .22s are pretty perfect, never a misfire with them.

Dicks is also having shotgun shells on sale this week. Or has all week. I'm assuming they are still on sale. It's buy one get one half off which seems pretty decent. A lot of Dicks stuff seems to be high priced and for the most part I don't buy much from them. However, every once in a while they have good deals. I got a Burris 3x9x40mm scope with a free Garmin eTrex GPS that was decent on clearance for $199. If they have some of the higher dollar shotgun shells you need on sale this week it seems like a decent deal. Sometimes they also just have stuff you can't find elsewhere. There Powerbelt bullets are also cheaper than the other places around here including WalMart. It's $17.99 for 20 and Walmart has a pack of 16 for like $18 or $19. However, for the most part if Wal-Mart has what you want it's a lot cheaper there. Dicks seems to be more inline price wise with gun shops. Like Wal-Mart used to and I say used to as they no longer carry them now that their targets are all labeled Winchester. Anyway, the big paper targets with orange and green. The 12 pack was like $2 or $3 max at WalMart and I was at Dicks the other day and they had some. They were like $5.99 or $6.99 or something like that. I think they were $6.99 but I'm not 100% positive. That's a pretty expensive price increase. You just really have to watch what you are buying there as you may be getting ripped off or you may be getting a deal.
