Folks I recommended to a friend of mine that he buy a Win. Super X 2. He bought a used one at Gander Mountain. This particular shotgun has been a nightmare. Before I get into the problems please note that this gun has been cleaned meticlously including the barrel gas ports. This gun is prestine.
When you pull the trigger it only dents the primer. When you reload the same shell and it finally fires,it won't eject the shell. Then sometimes the gun jams up so tight you can't charge the handle manually because the bolt armature comes out of recoil spring cup back in the stock.Prior to that, the trigger spring came out and screwed the trigger up and jammed up the safety.Has any one had similar problems? The Gun is back at Gander Mt. and they are thinking it over. It performs like this with both the bird barrel or lug barrel. Any input would help me immensely. Thank you. I can't speak for all the problems your friend is having but my hunting partner's SX2 strikes primers waaaaay off center. :scrutiny:

Otherwise it functions pretty well, besides its heavy trigger and long reset.

I'd have to see it to form a detailed opinion of that problem child.

I bought a used SX-2 Waterfowl 5 or 6 years ago and have not had a problem.

The few SX2's I have shot had no issues, still hunt with the fellows who own them, and they still use the gun. There are lemons in any manufactured product, if it was me, I'd leave it with Gander and move on.

I'd check with Ahlmans in Morristown. They do warranty work for many brands and dealers. I highly recommend them.

Thanks Guys.. We got a full refund from Gander Today. We are going to try another. I have two SX2's and they are excellent.. I'll be over by Morristwon tomorrow and wing in to Ahlman's. Mike Collins Rochester Minnesota
