Broke it in today. Bought it 4 years ago, "new old stock in box" from a seller on gun broker, he wasn't kidding it was NEVER shot before based on the insides. Almost hesitated to shoot because and it's a few decades old now but then decided YES DO IT! I really don't think it's that collectable anyway.

So test fired Federal 240 gr JHP .44 magnum in it about ten rounds first hit slight high at 50 yds then one click down and a slight tap to windage its hitting pretty center now. Was with a friend sighting in his rifles and spent time spotting for him so I didn't get a chance to test Fiocchi ammo in it, will next time.

Smooth action, smooth loading gate, typical Winchester 94 trigger pull. Thick front sight makes for easy aiming. Recoil is a little snappy but not too bad, less recoil than 30-30 is.

I might test it at 100 yds but really I see it as a 50 yd rifle.

I bought one of those in .45 Colt for my brother many years ago, it became my favorite camp and all-around rifle... I ‘borrowed’ it from him quite a bit. Definitely a fun little rifle!
