A local company we visit is having a raffle. Tickets were $20 a piece. They were raising money for a local charity. If you win you receive all three of the following.. (They had them on display)

All new in the box

I would certainly have a good day if I got a phone call next month saying they drew my name!!

We have a local raffle put on by the county fire association. You buy chances for "a gun a day for the month of May". Even if you win one your ticket is returned to the pile for all future drawings. It is popular and sells out in less than a week with the 1000 ticket limit.

I have a coworker who seems to have been blessed with these raffles. In the past 2 years, he's won an 870, Kimber solo, Sig (possibly 228) in desert tan, a Taurus PT22 and a Double Tap deringer in 9mm. I do believe he purchases several tickets though. He don't really like to say how many.

Never once have I ever won a raffle. But I did find a $5 bill on the ground once in the middle of a field... I may have saved money on my car insurance in the past as well. I forget.

Think of it this way. You either win or don't win. 50/50 chance.

That's the only way I can convince myself to buy a powerball ticket. It just sounds so much better than 1/300,000,000.
