I recently decided to (finally) get some ammo for my K31. I was under the impression that my ammo options were pretty limited, but then I noticed that Wolf finally came out with their 7.5x55 "Gold" boxer-primed reloadable ammo. Price seems to be a little under $.50/round, which is the best I've seen for 7.5 Swiss -- especially given that I can shoot it once before reloading. :)

My question is, have any of you tried this stuff yet? I'm not all that concerned with whether the ammo is super-accurate and reliable out of the box, but rather if the brass is good enough to reload high quality rounds.

Same question goes for Wolf's 7.62x54R Gold ammo.

That ammo is actually made by Prvi Partizan, and I'd consider it an upper midgrade quality product. You shouldn't have any problems using the brass.

The soft point shot well in my M39 (1 1/2 at 75 yds from a rest). I haven't come across any swiss rds. to try.

I was just about to post this same thread. My wife bought me 80 rounds of the 7.5x55 for Valentines (yes, I love her dearly, and yes, she has a sister :neener: ).

I'm more interested in it for the brass than anything else, but I'll be paying close attention if anyone has more info.

I've had great accuracy with the Wolf heavy BT FMJ loads out of my old M-91. I didn't know they had boxer primed stuff out now. Sometimes the primer pockets are very shallow on the "reloadable" brass and you end up having to use the special military primers from CCI.

i love the wolf gold, made in yugoslav not russia. very acc especially the 185 grnrs, and the 200 grnrs, but you better have a recoil pad!
