Woodsman in W2

I would say that the combination of the blade with the micarta, looks amazing. OP makes some amazing knives, it's a good thing to have knife makers come on the forum.

Real ivory would cost you an arm and a leg, if you could even get the proper paperwork for it. Some states have banned the sale of ivory outright.

That’s a gorgeous knife. Seriously, I’m usually not one to drool over fixed blades but that one is great.

Re: ivory vs ivory-colored linen micarta, I don’t see them in competition, they’re completely different handle materials with different use-cases. I would hands down prefer the micarta on a fixed blade.

I had not seen bone micarta before. I did a Google search on, but most samples online had a darker tan look without a large grain like yours. Your knife has a whiter look closer to ivory, but I like the large grain. Can you share where you obtained yours? I have a few revolvers that would look great with grips from this material. I never liked real ivory, too white with no detail; and stag often has too dark detail with deep uneven ridges. This micarta looks like a nice material in between the two.

This would look great as revolver grips! I get it from Pops knife supplies https://popsknife.supplies/collecti...-material/products/antique-bone-paper-micarta

Thanks for sharing the source. I’m also visualizing inlays that match the stainless steel or bluing. I’m also thinking that a copper or bronze color inlay could match a cerakote frame color. The just right color of this micarta expands the possibilities.
that is a cool idea! I love a hot blued SAA with ivory grips.....like George Patton
