World record shooting rifle stolen

That is horrible, I hope the rifle is found in good condition and the guy gets caught. I agree with those who keep their firearms with them in a hotel and don't let a truck full of hard earned goods out of their sight.

When I was a fed they made it clear that any gov property stolen out of a locked car was to be paid for out of our pocket. Anybody can be victimized in a brief moment of opportunity. Locked cars are not responsible places to keep things.

Wonder if those FBI guys who left a bunch of M-16's in their vehicle in a motel parking lot overnight some years ago, that subsequently were stolen, had to pay for them?

When I was a state peace officer, we were warned that leaving our pistol in a vehicle was forbidden, on or off duty, and if stolen, we'd be brought up on dept. charges.
