$14.00 admission...long hallways to get to the 'show' area...One room, hardly larger than my Workshop...not enough things of any interest to me to fill one suitcase in the whole show.

Did luck out on finding a seller who had CCI Primers, so, got 1,000 of those, Large Pistol...and was glad about that.

Oherwise, yeeeeeeeeesh, really small, mostly gee-gaws, and the usual boreing same-old-circuit Venders and their same old stuff.

Anyone else go and have a happier impression?

On a somewhat related note, I was pretty pissed about my last gun show. Valley Forge PA last month. I'd say 30% of it was stupid junk like gothic swords, airsoft guns, etc.

I went to the Wells MN gun show a couple years ago. It was really talked up by everyone that had ever been to it. It's in a school and three floors were supposed to be wall to wall guns. There was only one floor open and they didn't really have many guns. At least the admission was only $5 in stead of $14. I think I've heard they've reopened the other floors to venders again.

Up here in Maine the prices were insane but there were about 25 vendors and about 4 thousand firearms and lots of primers and ammo in Bangor last month. I am going to one in central Maine tomorrow and will let you all know about it.:scrutiny:

Before I moved from Vegas to the Alamo City I thought all of our gun shows were kinda lame, now I MISS them! The Saxet and Texas gunshows that blow through here every month or so are so small you probably could hold them in a guy's decent 3 car garage.

I never see pallets of ammo, primers, etc. like we had at Claude Hall. The firearms are somewhat interesting, but very few deals to be found.

The Saxet shows are for buying a standard gun (SW, Glock, Sig, Ruger, etc.) at a better price that the local stores. However, sometimes big box stores like Academy come close. I've found better used guns at some stores. Others stores are sky high.

Ammo at shows is not good. Big box better!!

We actually have a gunshow scheduled in this 1.5 horse town later this month, going to see if it's worth the gas to drive two miles to see it.

not for the timid

I'm not from Maine, Vermont, etc., but anytime someone wants me to give them my money to purchase their stuff for sale, I just will not, -will not,
pay them my money so that I can view their items for sale to me.

I know what a good gun "show" is.

No doubt, "the worst gun show evah!"

Henderson, just south of Las Vegas, used to have a really nice smallish Gun Show.

$4.00 Admission, just about all sellers were individuals not-in-the-business, mostly old or used Guns..."Wonderful", I always enjoyed it, always good deals.

Long gone now though...

Yeah, I paid the $14 to be disappointed. I'm not even from the area, I was there on other business when I heard about it. I thought the Las Vegas gun shows were supposed to be great, so in I went. Live and learn. I did get 1K large pistol primers for a friend, but Miwall didn't have small pistol primers, and I can buy from them at gun shows at home at any rate. Also got a carton of Federal LE buckshot for $35. And I got a couple new holsters from the Nevada Gun Leather guy. The SP101 fits ok, nothing special. But the one for a 2" K frame clearly isn't. It's too small, and way loose. Turn the thing sideways and my 10-5 falls right out. I e-mailed them, to see if they'll do a mail order trade for one with a thumb break. I mean, for what I paid I didn't expect much, but basically functional would have been nice. All in all a waste of time and money, in my opinion. It will be nice if I can get the holster issue resolved, though. Anyone else ever dealt with this guy?

Wallace Beinfeld's used-to-be 'Sahara Gun Show', thence 'Antique Arms Show' located at the Riveria I think, but it has moved around...is pretty well always a real pleasure.

All 'old' Guns and related...no 'beef-jerky' and black-nylon and crakling 'tazers'...

I think it is coming up fairly soon, too...

By the time I pay admission and fuel costs to and from, I have to add $20 on to any purchase I make at a "local" gun show.

Since the last 3 have resulted in very minor purchases due to either nothing to buy or exorbitant prices, at this point they're a "no-go" for me.

Did not make yours, but had a good impression of the one in Pasadena, TX this weekend.

All the vendors had piles of stuff, prices falling like a rock, and most willing to make a deal. Not too surprised at the amount of AR lowers and parts. It seems to me like the orders placed during the panic have mostly been filled, and sales not as brisk as they once were.

Other notes:

Found a fairly nice 1917 for $500, and he would have come off it.

Could not find any .30 carbine in the show, but plenty of 5.56 green tip, 7.62x39, etc.

Lets toys than in most shows.

8 H&K PSPs or P7M8s at three different tables. (As soon as I order one online, every dealer seems to pop up with them, LOL ) Prices $800-$1K, so they are a little proud of them.

From all indications, and talking with dealers, the HGCA will be a merchandise packed show next weekend.

Sorry to hear some parts of the country have not caught up, be patient I am sure they will soon.
