Title says it all. I don't mind spending the extra money one bit… if it's worth it. Has anyone had any durability issues with the polymer MBUS rear flip-up sights?
Assuming we're talking Magpul sights, I wouldn't bother unless I had a functional change in mind (needed a lower profile sight to fit under an optic, switching to a fixed, etc.). I personally like to run fixed rear sights if running a fixed front, but I wouldn't have a problem with the polymer Magpul rear.
After doing some reading, I agree; I'll keep my polymer MBUS rear sight on. Apparently they're pretty dang durable, and I never had any issues with them on my rifles, but I was just curious.
I think I'll spend the money on a good sling instead
Good call. According to one drop test, the MBUS plastic sights were actually the most durable sights tested. If you don't have a good sling, definitely worry about that first. Check out the padded VCAS.
