I'm thinking about a Sig P232 for my birthday. I want to get something classic and timeless, like me.

Also, any reason not to get one?

I like the stainless model and found one not too far away for $550.

Ay other ideas for a milestone birthday gun?

Ps...I accept birthday presents from forum members.

A SIG P-232 certainly has the pedigree and the design to be considered a classic gun. Add in a pair of Nil or Marschal wood grips and you have one very stylish looking SIG for a birthday present.

I own one in stainless. Yes, I'd call it classic even if relatively modern.

If "classic" means timeless beauty, great design and attraction akin to sexiness... then YES!

:D

Beautiful, functional, well made and reliable. Much to like here.

Love the Sig 230/232 line.

anything not made of plastic could be a classic gun IMHO and I like the P-232 so yes and it's one of a few new guns I'd be willing to buy.

Usp9.....nice pic. You're not helping my bank account very much.

It's got great styling, sig quality, and is probably easy shootin'. I need to go fondle it again.

Absolutely! A true classic, that only enhances my rugged good looks when I wear it a Berns-Martin upside-down shoulder holster underneath my white dinner jacket whilst playing baccharat in a Monaco casino ...

Seriously though, it's probably the only pistol I ever bought based simply on my thinking it looked totally cool ... Wife loved its looks and ergonomics (until she shot it) ... I love SIGs, and this is simply the best-looking SIG ever; I just wish they'd make 'em in 9mm!

Good gun. I don't know that I'd call it a "Classic" just yet. To the extent that it resembles the Walther PP and PPK it has "Classic" good looks. But I'm not sure it's achieved the status to be a classic on it's own yet. Just my opinion.

P230/p232

Don't forget to include the P230. I guess it could be considered somewhat more of a classic as it is the same basic pistol as the P232.

The P230 just came out a few years earlier and was available in calibers other than just .380. The P232 had a few "improvements" and arrived a little later.

Yes. The same classic good looks of the PP series in a more reliable, up-to-date package.

What is the difference in the 230 and 232?

The P232 is the evolution of the P230. The main changes are;
* Some small internal changes.
* Different grip panel style, yet still interchangable.
* Different slide serrations style.
* Sights changed from dot on dot to three dot.
* firing pin block safety added to P232.
* P230 chambered in .32, .380 and 9mm Police, P232 in .380 only.

That's all I can remeber.
