I would feel . . . alive.
In fairness though, "alive" isn't really an emotion in the sense that I refer to it, but a 'state of being.'
In the end, I think perhaps it is the 'state of being' which matters most. That is to say that, I could end up dead and not feel anything about the shooting, OR; keep myself alive, and my feelings be subject to consideration/therapy.
It is a cold equation.
