Would You Give Aid

If i was absoultely certain all threats were gone and i had the proper protective equipment, primarily latex gloves, i would render aid. I keep a first aid kit in the car so if my vehicle is near he may be in luck. Of course if he just did something heinous like gun down people at random then it would be harder to want to help him and they would of course get aid first.

I really dont think I would want the person that just shot me, to touch me afterwards. If I shot somneone I would call 911, thats it

Approaching someone who has just tried to kill you is a very bad idea since they're probably even more unhappy with you than they were before you were forced to shoot them to defend your life.

Stay out of reach of the BG.

Well, if the time comes for me to pull the trigger, I won't be shooting to wound. I'll shoot till the threat is ended. Then I'll call the cops and they can deal with what's left of the threat.

I've practiced to stay alive...if i am forced to act accordingly than those who have not run away should no longer be a threat to me--if i do not allow them an opportunity to.

I'll take pictures of the crowd ( left handed cause the gun is still in my right) trying to get faces for witnesses, and of the perps.
i am not trained to give medical assistance so with 911 i am going to ask for ambulances--and one for me. [that reasoning has been discussed before]

even if i wanted to help out medically wise, i do not have protective equipment and having succeeded in thwarting an attack on myself, why would i wish to put myself at risk for disease?

and how badly are they injured? they were not kindly inclined towards me before i shot them...are they more likely to like me after i shot them?

If you had to shoot a BG in a justifiable SD situation and you just incapacitated him but did not kill him... would you render first aid or would you just call the police and let him suffer the consequences? If he did expire it is one more potential killer off the streets; correct? Or, do you feel that you have a moral obligation to try and save his life?

As far as Im concerned,If I was professionally medically-trained,I'd greatly improvise with whatever I could find & do all I could to save the bad guys worthless life & In real life,im a trained-first aider,so Id try and keep his airwaves open & keep him calm & not put any direct pressure on the entry-wound,but if he died of his injuries, then it would be too bad & I wouldn't lose any sleep over it,because it would of been either him, or me.

No I would not render aid. In every class I have ever taken it was brow beatin not to approach the assailant once he is neutralized. Instead I would call 911 and let the paramedics and cops deal with them.

In watching some eye witness video's of police involved shootings, not one of them administered and more aid than to hand cuff the perp. That's what our SOP was when I was a LEO years ago. One of my FTO buddies made the comment that the cuffs were the final step in neutralizing the threat. If he happens to die as a result of his own actions, he made a bad choice.

I had a friend in Iraq, who was a medic, he was treating insurgents in the back of a MP truck, one MP left his rifle unsecured, My friend had his pistol rigged on his chest and his M-4 was with a squad mate, he ended up stabbing one and pulling on the other after they tried for the MP's rifle, lucky for him he was cutting bandages and had his knife out.

My point is, where is YOUR gun, and how will you defend yourself when he decides to make you hurt like he does.

In EMT school they taught "is the scene safe (BSI), is the scene safe (physical hazards), is the scene safe (situational)

The scene is neither safe per #1 nor per #3
the EMT response to #3 is to call the police and wait for them to secure the scene.

Call 911 immediately. Come to think of it, that should have been step #3 once I realized something was wrong and grabbed my gun. The paramedics are actually pretty quick in the area, unlike the Police.

Live by the sword die by the sword. Bad guys choice.
I wouldn't help him anymore than he would me.
At least he would have a chance as I would call 911.

Kant would say shoot him and then patch him up. I don't always agree with Kant, but I do here. Yeah, I'd help him. It is the right thing to do. Also makes you look better if a ****** DA wants to make you into the bad guy.

I shot the person to defend my life, why should I now endanger my life. I do not have the PPDs to protect myself from any potential blood born virus like; AIDS, Hep C, etc. Covers to minimize shock and wait for the experts.

Yeah, this. I'll call 911 but that's the extent of it. Besides the fact they are probably pissed at me, I am risking not getting god knows what from their blood.

I would give what little aid that I could while remaining safe. Enlisting a bystander to give aid, enlisting someone to call 911, watching for accomplices or someone playing possum myself.

I don't carry Band Aids for Bad Guys.

Plus, after being forced to shoot a bad guy, I ain't about to then get into his kill zone.
