This is just a curiosity to me. I've already made the trade and I'm happy with it. I traded a P95 & a Charter 3" 44spl for a Glock 21 SF. This is the gun I've wanted for years... what I consider to be (for me) the ideal home defense handgun.

But it probably appears to others to be a bad trade. What do you think?

ETA: I have several handguns of various makes... probably 2 dozen.

It's a terribly personal kind of decision. I'd prefer either the Charter .44 or the P95 over a Glock 21 (especially the Charter ;) ) so I said no in your poll. But if you're happy, then my vote is really quite meaningless. Enjoy your pistol!

As long as it's the version with the standard Glock rail and single sided magazine release it's a great trade.

I love my 21SF.:D

Well, if you like the Glock more than the other guns and didnt mind trading them in, then yeah you got a good trade. Id always say two guns that sit in a safe traded in for a gun youll use on a regular basis is a good trade.

If you are happy with the trade that's all that matters.

Would you have made this trade for a G21 SF?
No I wouldn't.
Personally I have turned down free Glocks (G17 & G26), so I wouldn't trade anything for one.

As long as it's the version with the standard Glock rail and single sided magazine release it's a great trade.
And if it's got the picatinny rail and the ambi release, it's an even better trade. When you wear it out after 50k rounds, you can trade it in for a brand new one. :)

Value wise you got the short end but some times thats just a casulty of getting what you really wanted

I have Ruger SR9c that I love...So I bought a used SR9 to "go with it".
Its was so similar to the "c" I felt like I had two of the same gun.....
I soon traded the SR + a little cash for pristine Glock 21SF(Glock rail, mono mag release) with 6 mags and a Bladetech.
I'm very happy with my trade. The big Glock is a pleasure to shoot and shoot and shoot ;)
Not only that but...What better gun and caliber to have by your side if things go bad? A combination of unquestioned reliability, accuracy and stopping power.

Since it's a done deal and you don't want to hear you screwed up royally... I'l tell ya it's a good deal.

The particulars I focus on are these:
--"This is the gun I've wanted for years... what I consider to be (for me) the ideal home defense handgun."
--You went from 2 pistols to one
--Went from 9mm to .45 (with a .44 sweetener thrown in)
--Relative conditions weren't stated so I assume that's moot

Seems good to me. Don't worry and have a cookie.

I'm pretty sure they will give you a new lower, which means you will have a mis-matched gun. Still a good deal, just better if it has the Glock rail/single sided safety.

The question in the poll does not match the answer choices.

No I would not have made that trade, BUT that doesn't mean that I think you made a poor choice. If you like and want that Glock, you made a good choice.
It's not the choice I would make, but that doesn't make it bad by any stretch.
