Would You Ladder Test 55gr .223 In 15 mph Wind?

Until I got four wind flags for 100 yards, I though wind only came from four directions to affect the flight of the bullet and that a 15 mph wind was a constant. I was wrong. I am still trying to figure out wind. Subtle changes in direction and velocity will throw off a shot more than you would think. I would pick a nice, VERY calm day for any testing.

It is just another (yet wide) rabbit hole to jump down into.

No disrespect intended but from my prospective you may see drastically different results the next time you shoot this particular load as it appears edit: the exit timing is effecting the accuracy node.

With your permission;
A node is defined when rounds with a slightly different powder charge continue to impact near the same location on the target. ( flat spot)
A barrel is an oscillating ( insert spell check here) whip’ when shooting groups we disregard the size of the group and look for similar location or overlap of impact. Size and shape of a group can be manipulated by fine tuning seating depth, powder and sometimes primers. I suggest you lay out your targets horizontally and re evaluate your results.
Respectfully
J
