The guys have no info on it. It has a turn ring so it has been shot. But I didn’t lay hands on it. Snapped a photo and moved on to get home to a delivery. It’s an 8 shot .357. I know nothing about Taurus revolvers or their pricing.

Should I pass or look it over?

Nope, I don't think I would. On the other hand, since it is there in person, you can check the lock-up and trigger pull. For $600, I'd more likely go for a used S&W.

I don't think you can say for sure it has been shot because it has a turn ring; could've just been dry-fired a lot.

Thank you. This store is going out of business at the end of this month. Maybe I can swing a deal. I actually had decided I was buying a Glock 19 Gen 5 or a 43X when I saw this Taurus.
A friend of mine California has this same gun and he really likes his.

You could be right. Turn rings really don’t bother me.

I have been wanting an S&W 327 TRR8, but the prices on them when you find them are just to high for me. I have a 327 Night Guard that I love. Another 8 shot .357 would be a welcome addition to my revolver clan. The last 327 TRR8 & M&P R8 that I came across the TRR8 was $1600 and the M&P R8 was $1500. Yikes! And I complained when I saw them for $1300 in 2019.

I have the unported Taurus 658, a 3" in nearly new conditon and I paid about $480+shipping about 2 years ago. Nice gun, bad picture. Lock up is pretty much great, and I doubt it was fired before I got it.

I had never seen a 608 variant that wasn't ported, and I was looking for a 3" revolver, so I grabbed it. Glad I did.

I know gun prices can vary quite a bit from state to state, region to region and so forth but in my area that is kind of high. I would be out at $600 considering used Rugers go for that price here. I paid $750 for a new GP100 not so long ago and Ive recently seen S&W 686's new in box for $900 or a little less.

It doesn’t always work but I always figure that a LGS pays not more than half of the retail price which would be $426 (if msrp is $852) for a used gun, maybe less. Then mark it up at least 25%. That would make it just over a $500 revolver with them making decent profit. Just numbers I keep in my head when I see something, stores vary though. So at $600 it’s not a steal and if it’s not on your list it’s not a good buy!

Around 10 years ago I was hell bent for an 8-shot Redhawk or S&W R8 (327)..... just for the extra firepower, because why not!....

I wound up purchasing a Glock 40 MOS and the urge for one of the above 8-shot 357s disappeared completely.

Not really even close but I bought a Glock 44 today. No, it’s no 8 shot .357 magnum Smith & Wesson but it’s another gun checked off my want list.

Let's see.

Currently made. MSRP Eight fifty something. I'm seeing "buy it now" prices from $650 to low $700s on gunborker.

Assuming it passed inspection, I'd try for $500.

I know they're not even close, but the urge to get an 8 shot 357 disappeared instantly as soon as I bought it.....it's really weird.

Me... Absolutely not. No way, no how on a $600+ price for a Taurus.
