Would You Think the Hi-Point Carbine as a large pistol?

I am not sure what your question is asking. Your grammar structure leads a lot to be desired, and I can't even really tell what you are asking.

The Hi-Point fires 9mm Parabellum, so I suppose it could technically be called a very large pistol (it's a meaningless distinction), but it has a 16" barrel and it's like 30 inches long - pretty damn difficult to do concealed carry with it.

Considering how damned ugly they are, I really try not to think of them at all.

The thought of them as a really large pistol....will keep me awake at night.

Thanks a lot.

Well, it has a permanent buttstock, a 16½" barrel, and the receiver encloses the bolt so no, it is a carbine. It can be shot like a pistol (i.e. unshouldered) but it isn't one, IMO. You can do the same with .22 rifles, would you consider them pistols or handguns?

My interpretation of the question

I'm assuming that the poster is trying to ask: "How does a Hi-Point Carbine measure up as an alternative to a pistol?"

Kind of like how advocates of the M1 Carbine point out that it's unfair to compare the M1 Carbine unfavorably to the M1 Garand, as it was not made to replace the M1 Garand, but as an alternative to carrying the M1911 for support troops and small unit leaders.

As a writer put it: "The M1 Carbine isn't much of a rifle, but it's a heck of a pistol."

Not having fired an HP Carbine, can't say. But I believe this is what vsse is asking.

I think of the Hi-Point Carbine as a large &*@#, just a bigger one than a Hi-Point pistol.

He beat me to it. I was going to say that I think of it as a piece of crap, and a total waste of money.
