Would you trade a S&W 66 (no dash) for a snubbie 686plus?

Not me, I would just work toward buying the 686. A nice older 66, and in this case a vintage no dash 66, is something I would hold on to.

I doubt the other party would take the deal but yeah, if you want the extra round and the guy's willing, go for it. I love the Model 66 and consider it to be an ideal home protection gun, and one that's getting very scarce. It's not as strong or as tough as a Ruger, which you might want to consider (a Speed-Six can be had in a snub configuration, is as tough as a 686, and comes with a lower price tag).

A Ruger can also be had with a snub 2.75-inch barrel as a Security-Six. They're stronger, lighter and built like brick outhouses.

The Speed-Six is a very robust handgun and can still be had
for an affordable price, even though its no longer made. The Security-Six
(below) has adjustable sights and a square butt, which can be rounded
like the one shown.

I probably would, but mainly because I like shorter barrels. Like my 3" 686+ quite a bit. If the barrel lengths were the same I wouldn't trade. I certainly wouldn't give extra cash unless mine was worn - both models sell for about the same around here.
