Wow, I Never Thought I'd See the Day!

I guess they figure Ruger guns will still be exempt from any new AWB due to Bill's selling us out in 1993.

I've always liked the looks of a flash suppressor on a Mini-14.

And man, mine needs one.

so they throw a cheap stock on the gun and charge a few hundred doolars more bacause it is tacti-cool? Im not knocking ruger, but you would think they would at least go to the effort of designing their own stock

In all honesty, Ruger is damned if they don't and damned if they do.
At least they are USA.

yeah those mini-14s with compensator, saw two at the local gun store a while back, didnt know they came from Ruger like that, figured they were made up like that for the "assault weapon ban" scare sales

From what I understand there are three models:
one with flash hider and spiffy stock
one with flas hider and normal stock
and one with no flash hider but a spiffy stock

one with flash hider and spiffy stock
Where?

And, FWIW--the "flash hider" design is actually kind of old, I remember seeing a few "police" model Mini's during the ban with the flash hider on there (and by "police", it wasn't a moniker, it seemed to be another one of the Bill sr's "I never wanted people to have it" models).

Tacticool Mini 14. Looks like an air soft gun. The tacticool stuff just isn't my thing. I haven't been impressed by any of the new Ruger stuff.

A 6 position stock on anything that doesn't have a buffer tube just doesn't do it for me (not knocking it, just not my cup of tea...but I can see plenty of reason for it(different shooters, etc)). It would've been better served with one of those wire folding stocks with the rubber recoil pad.

$1500 damn dollars! NO WAY would I shell that kind of money out for a damned standard stainless mini in a plastic stock. Damn...

so they start selling high cap mags after osama bin biden's elected...nice one they couldve tried it back when stuff was afforrdable

Isn't capitalism grand? Too bad they are a few years too late with this configuration. Pricing is assanine as you can purchase a SOCOM for the same $. :uhoh: ... and this coming from a Ruger fan.

No, they realized that even if they continued to sell it as an only-5-round, cowboy-stocked carbine, it was STILL going to be banned as an "assault weapon." And it probably also dawned on them that many Gen-X and Gen-Y shooters prefer modern stocks and accessories.

I LIKE the model with the adjustable-length sidefolding stock with the ergonomic handgrip. Very nice.

(And MSRP on guns is almost always higher than the actual selling price, with the exception of AR's and AK's since November.)

its only taken the death of thier CEO. a huge public outlash and the alienation of an entire market....

ya they are just great.

* hoppy will never buy a ruger product

They need to offer hi-cap mags for the Mini30 and 6.8SPC Mini-14, and put both of them in their 'tactical' line. Their tactical Mini in 6.8 would be kinda fun.
