Went to the gun show this weekend with my son's liberal leaning GF. I was looking for a compact 45, DA, at least 10rd cap mags. Played with a couple of different makes that more or less fit the bill and ended up with a Taurus Millenium Pro NIB for 3 bills.
Got it home and stripped it down at my bench, was all ready to fluff and buff but was dissappointed. Seems like someone had already done it. I polished a bit on the feed ramp just so I could say I did something, cleaned it up, and just cycled it for the next hour or so.
Took it to the range today with 50rds of wolf, 50 rds of Independance (Yeah, I never heard of it either) one box of R-P yellow box hard ball and one box of HP's. First thing I noticed was it has a very light trigger for a DAO, but boy is it long. Still nothing I can't get used to. It has the 3 dot sight set up that I'm fond of, but I haven't gotten around to making them green/orange/green yet, so I had to make do with white/white/white. Only shot at 10 yrds, figured that was good enough for what this gun was made for. Slow aimed fire I could keep at around 3 inches, quick double taps opened up to about 6. I think I can shrink those once I get used to the trigger. Everything shot about an inch low, but I can probably fix that with some reloading. Didn't have a single hiccup from this gun today. 200 pulls of the trigger and 200 bangs. Recoil was pretty snappy, but abit more controlable than my 357 snubby due the full grip I can get on it. Not promising anything, but if she keeps it up for a few hundred more rounds she may replace the wheelgun on my hip. If I can find some decent leather anyway.

The PT-145 is, in my view, a very underrated handgun. I think it's a worthy pistol in its own right, and I am becoming quite fond of my wife's Millenium, may have to get one of my own. It's accurate and totally reliable.

I picked up a nice black Kramer Belt Scabbard in horsehide for our PT-145. Fits great, looks good, and these holsters wear like iron, last forever ...

I agree. Mine has quickly become one of my most carried handguns. I originally got it b/c it was cheap and I wanted to see how it would hold up. I've had excellent luck with inexpensive handguns in general and Taurus handguns specifically. Certainly not a target piece, but it holds it's own in the CCW arena.

I picked up a PT145 Millenium in stainless a few months ago and I am very pleased with it. Using WWB 230gr and some reloads, I can get 4" groups at 15yds from a wood block rest.

I thoght that the recoil would be pretty stiff with the 3" barrel but it really isn't that bad at all. I have about 400 rounds thru it right now and that includes 200 rounds of Remington GS 230gr JHP's. So far there hae been no failures of any kind. The grip is not much wider than my SA 1911 Loaded and the 10+1 capacity is a real plus for a carry pistol. The trigger pull is a bit long but it doesn't seem to be much different than my Ruger P89.

I think that for the $305 that I paid for mine, it's a very good deal.

Mine also is a "keeper". I got it just before the Millenium Pro models came out...thought about "trading up" from a SS PT145 to an SS PT145 Pro model....

I won't do it though...not because of the money...its just this darn PT145 just shocks me with how accurate it is. No joke...I put those sights on something, and it hits it. I was shooting steel plates this past weekend...two people in the bay next to me are using "brand name" 1911's...I'm hitting smaller steel targets than them consistently...(they seemed to miss a lot...). That's with their better triggers over my super long pull one...

I think I just got a "good" one.

It also doesn't seem to jam...

Honestly, I never expected this level of performance from this gun. I had bought it as something that could have the trigger locked in the car. It does much more than that.

The darn thing has me looking out for the titanium version of the PT111 Pro...if I see one at a good price, I'll probably get it too...
