Writer Wanted to Cover Flashlights for Product Review Site

If you have an interest in flashlights and write well, this may be a perfect opportunity for you. A well-regarded product review site is seeking a journalist to cover SHOT Show flashlight introductions and to update and expand its existing coverage of flashlights with emphasis on LED lights, as well as tactical incandescent flashlights. The applicant should have a strong background in the subject matter or be able to get up to speed quickly, ability to make arcane technical details understandable to the layperson, good writing skills and be capable of writing quickly for show coverage. Access to a 3MP+ digital camera with good macro capability would be desirable.

Applicant that already attends SHOT Show is preferred. Interest in outdoors and wilderness sports would be helpful. Familiarity with Photoshop or similar software would be helpful. Familiarity with HTML would be helpful. Pay commensurate with experience and skills, but you will not be retiring on this. :D Enthusiasm is a must.

Applicant should email [email protected] (a blind mailbox) with relevant experience, writing samples/links, remuneration requirements, and contacts. (No PM, please email)

I'm sure I meet all the requirements, but miss confess I consider flash lights right up there with pliers and window cleaner and mouse pads in terms of excitement potential.

Wild Alaska might be the better candidate, althoughidon'tknowwhetherhe'shadhisspacebarfixedyet.

Actually mon frere, I have an excellent command of the English language that I hide behind a thin veneer of insanity, sarcasm and downright curmudgeonlyness.

And my space bar does work when I command it to!

If you do discover that space bar, still accepting applications for this position.

Also, in case it makes a difference to anyone reading this, will be able to offer a free hotel room at major hotel/casino within short walking distance of the convention center as part of the deal. Requirements per original message, email only to [email protected] (blind email box).

A few apllicants have been concerned about the Photoshop and HTML requirements. They aren't critical for the right person, might help tip balance in a close call.

ooh ooh, pick me!

and I already live in Vegas, have a digital camera as well as knowledge of photoshop...and i kan spel.

Being able to spell is nice, but being able to write is much better. :D Some of the best writers I know can't spell worth beans. Keeps you on your toes copy editing and proofing.
