Please forgive me if this is the wrong forum section for this. A neighbor has had the following three guns socked away in a closet for many years. He is preparing to put them up for sale at the local range, but has no idea what they are worth. I have not seen them myself, but let's assume they are in good condition. Here goes:

1. JC Higgins model 66 semi-auto shotgun: 12 guage, 2 3/4" chamber, vent rib, adjustable choke

2. H&R Model 565 .22 rifle: single-shot, bolt-action

3. Savage/Stevens 940E Shotgun: 12 guage, single-shot, break open

I would to get back to him with value ranges, so he knows what price to ask.

Note: These guns do not belong to me, and I have not seen them in person.

Thanks in advance.

1. JC Higgins model 66 semi-auto shotgun: 12 guage, 2 3/4" chamber, vent rib, adjustable choke Made by High Standard for Sears - $140 - $225 depending on condition

2. H&R Model 565 .22 rifle: single-shot, bolt-action $45 - $85 depending on condition

3. Savage/Stevens 940E Shotgun: 12 guage, single-shot, break open $50 - $90 depending on condition

Flatfenders price check seems very accurate from what I'veseen in the used gun circuit.
Provided they are in at least fairly decent shape

Guys,
Thanks for the replies. My neighbor will be glad to know what appropriate price range to ask for these guns.

He also has an M1 Carbine, which sounds like its an original, non-import. He has said he will keep the Carbine, but I will do my best to sweet-talk him into selling it to me! - LOL

That M1 Carbine is probably worth no more than a couple hundred dollars.

But since we're such good friends I'll give you $250 for it.
