$18.xx for a box of 100!!!

If your Wally World still has the old price, snatch up all they have!!!

Other 9mm went up as well as other calibers...arghh...I should have bought some yesterday!

I've been buying out the local Wal Marts of all the Remington 22LR 550 boxes they get in for $12.23. Monday it went up to $13.88.

The last 9mm WWB I bought (at Academy) was $4.38/50. The price of ammo isn't close to peaking out yet.

I was at a nearby WalMart today and the 100 packs of 9mm were $18 and change there too.

The store I usually go to was $15 and change earlier in the week.

Just got back from my local WalMart - still had it at $15.72 so picked up 3 boxes. I wish I could stockpile a bunch more, but figure I have a little over 1,000 rounds at hand, so that should be good for awhile.

Let it go up, I started reloading for my 9mm guns. Its easy and I have the time. If ammo prices continue to soar into the stratosphere, I don't think the antis will have to do much, as most people won't be able to afford to shoot. I use to buy all my 9mm ammo from Walmart. Now I just buy .22 rimfire from them, otherwise I wouldn't go there at all.

Yep, I bought some 22 bulk ammo at Wally World last week and stocked up on Federal 22 last year when it was $9.99 at Cabelas--it's now $14.99.

I reload. Didn't matter when you could buy 9mm ammo at $5.00 a box. Those days are long gone.

Loaded ammo isnt the only thing to go up, reloading components have gone up a good bit too.

I've reloaded since the 60's, and actually quit for everything but what I was looking for precision from, due to surplus ammo calibers being cheaper to buy than it was to reload for. Thats changed a bit now.

If your planning on reloading, you had better buy as many components as you can now, while they too are still somewhat reasonable. Your actually already behind the curve if you havent already stocked up.

yeah that sucks i hate to hear when amm ois going up, looks like it is time to invest in more reloading componets.

Winchester White Box is killing me here in Central PA as well. It's getting to the point where I might have to start saving up to buy Cabela's reloads in bulk, because buying it by the box is just killing me on my limited income (a college student, a 5-year-old boy, and a currently unemployed wife tends to suck the money right out of your pocket).

Maybe I should bite the bullet and get a 9mm, because .40 S&W is high and 357SIG is just extortion. .45 ACP and 9mm seem to be more reasonable.

Or... we don't buy for a couple months and force them to lower their prices. If you play the hoarding game they'll play the price gouging game.

I usually buy by the case off the web. (usually from Ammoman). 9mm has historically been the cheapest, and .45 the most expensive. I havent seen that change as of yet. .40 and 357SIG are usually about the same to a buck a box apart, and about in the middle of the 9mm and .45acp.

These are his prices right now for what I usually buy. (shipping is included in the price)

9mm NATO 124gr $239/1000
9mm Federal AE $199/1000

.40/357SIG Speer Lawman $269/1000

.45acp Speer Lawman $319/1000

I was buying the Federal 230 grain GI .45 (its marked FC 02 "match" on the brass) from him when he was selling it. Its been awhile and I dont remember exacly what I was paying for it,(it wasnt really cheap) but its hot stuff and accurate, and some of the best .45 I've seen in awhile.

I usually dont buy .45 as I reload most of my practice stuff in lead. Even lead has gone up considerably. From what I'm seeing price wise for just bullets, its now a little over double what I was paying about a year and a half ago for the same stuff.

I also load for 357SIG, but it has never really been worth it, mostly due to limited bullet selection, but also especially when you add your time to it, so I usually just buy it in bulk.

I dont shoot that much .40 to bother.

Right now, piecewise, the 9mm WWB at WalMart is about the cheapest, but not by much, and only because your picking it up and not paying shipping. For loaded put away ammo, I dont think its as good as the Federal or Speer, but its usually fine for blasting and brass.

What Prince Yamato said:

"Or... we don't buy for a couple months and force them to lower their prices. If you play the hoarding game they'll play the price gouging game."

I know some will say its basic economics, a supply and demand sort of thing. But if everytime the effing prices go up, shooters go on a hording spree. Then it starts a cycle of ever increasing prices. I have meager reloading stocks compared to some, but enough to shoot for a few years.

Luis Leon

For about $250 for all you need to reload...
at a savings of roughly $5/box 9 mm and $10-$12 savings per box of 45/38/357 it does take much to break even and I have found reloading quite enjoyable

It was .45 Colt that made me reload, but now I just do it for everything. Better quality, more accurate, less cost and I enjoy doing it.

WWB going up caused me to buy some 9mm components. I like unique for .45 Colt and 9mm so that was all set.

in fact I am going to go load up some cartridges right now.

I have budgeted $500 to $750 a month for components since the first of the year. Last month 30,000 LP primers. This month around forty pounds of various powder. Next month speer 200gr gold dot 45s, 200 gr 10mms and Nosler 135 gr 10mm JHPs and 150gr 308 spitzers. I've already got a lifetime supply of large and small rifle primers on hand. I have two five gallon buckets full of once fired 45acp brass, a thousand 308 brass, five hundred 30/284 and two hundred 45/70 so I'm covered for the next few years anyway.

Sure would be nice if that would work...I have plenty to sit on for, well, more than a few months.:)
