I am going to buy a 300 win mag with a synthetic stock. I really like the feel of the Browning xbolt synthetic stocks. According to Browning, the action is epoxy bedded front and rear. Here are my questions:

1. Will the stock material eventually crush from repeated torquing of the action screws? I once had a cheap synthetic stock that did that. Had to replace it.

2. Does the bedding ever need replaced for any reason?

3. How is the recoil pad attached? Glue or screws?

4. Does the "Dura Touch" finish wear or peel off? If so, do you have to replace the stock or can the finish be restored?

Thanks.

Wow I am suprised no one responded to this thread

If you do not over tighten the action screws you will never have a problem with crushing the stock. The epoxy bedding should be permanent as long as you don't do anything to finish it.

Over all it should be a great buy and provide you with a lifetime of good shooting
