XD-S Rocks

Magazine capacity just compare it to Glock 30 and you will see what you're missing.

The XDS is meant to be a slim pistol. This aids in concealment when concealing IWB.

The glock 30, while a great gun, is an entirely different animal. A thick double stack is much more difficult for a lot of folks to conceal.

When the 9mm model is announced, I will have one on order with the first LGS that will take the order for me. As it stands, I carry the very similar XDm compact (albeit in .40) and I love that thing.

Thinking about getting one myself, just not sure if I want the 9mm, 40 or 45. I have an XDm9 with a 4.5" barrel/19+1 capasity and love it to death, but it is a bit large/heavy. Alabama is an open carry state so I am not really worried about hiding my pistol.

Kachok, rumor mill is XDs in .40 isn't planned by Springfield. But this is hearing it 2nd or 3rd-hand and a while ago.

Just curious, will regular XD/XDm sights work for this, or are there special sights you have to get?

When I get a XDs, it's going to be for personal protection, and I would like to have night sights over the sights it comes with.

I had a chance to handle one and it felt pretty good.
Being a Sprinfield I figured it would have a high bore axis.
Not so.
I don't own a .45. This may be my first. Duo-tone with night sights would be my preference.
I understand there is a extended magazine for plus one to seven total.

BTW ..... Where are the pictures?

BFD, you are correct.

I just handled one at the store yesterday, felt pretty nice. Still waiting for the 9 though.

I just sold mine today. It was a great shooter and CC'd like a champ but with the shape and size of my hand I had a problem with the slide rubbing the base knuckle of my hand. The first time out my knuckle was bleeding, :uhoh: I took it out a second time but no matter how much I tried I couldn't prevent the slide from rubbing my knuckle.

I have one and its shoots pretty nice for it small size. The fiber optic front sight is really good for day shooting. If night sights come out for it, I'm not sure if I will change out the sights or not. Sounds like folks want to see some pics. I have some pics with the 7rd extended mags as well. I kinda like shooting the gun with the 7rd mags with the adapter sleeves off. When I carry, I have a 5rd mag in the pistol (5+1) and carry a 7rd mag with the adapter sleeve off. By the way, the XDS mags fit in a mag carrier made for Sig P220 mags perfectly (I already had a Kydex P220 mag carrier). Here are the pics I took of mine:

Where did you find the extended mag?
They're out of stock (well, never were in stock) everywhere I've checked so far except SAinc
The Mrs and I have to do some serious testing on the XD-S, if it works well for her, I plan to order mags for it in both sizes, as well as a couple holster options for both of us

Ya seen them. Would like to try it. Friend has slight bigger one. Shoots good, but like u said ccw easily consealed. Good choice. I am abit curious how many shots it can go through? I know a couple ppl with glocks at 50k+ rds. I have a Taurus PT745,like I said friend has the Springfield Armory one as well.

Being a Sprinfield I figured it would have a high bore axis.

This is basically an optical illusion because the XD pistols have so much height at the front of the slide and frame. In reality the bore axis is lower than average because the web of your hand comes up so high on the frame when shooting the pistol.

I want one. Just can't decide whether to get it in 9mm, which I already have 4 of and reload for, or .45 which I don't.
