I liked my stock elite so much I bought a compact witness in 45 acp today. The trigger on it,in single action is nearly as good as the elite. In double action there is a fair amount of difference.

I've almost decided to get rid of my 1911's,except for a few, for the cz design.
My luck with 1911's has not been the best, although I love them, the reliability has not been there. With the cz design reliabilty has been excellent.

I kinda feel guilty, but my first requirement is being able to trust it.

What 1911s are you finding not reliable? I've been able to make all my 1911s reliable and I've many, but most needed nothing be done.

I've one Witness-P I'm about to give up on(.40S&W) , two that's been fine out out of the box (9mm & .45ACP) and a steel framed 10mm that the jury is still out on getting a few nose dives into the feed ramp, swapped in Wolff extra power mag springs, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet its rained a lot :(

Wally,

1911 Tuner has worked on every 1911 I have bought.Only one norinco needed nothing to run 100%.3 springfields,a micro,a loaded and a milspec all had to be worked on,a colt commander he had to lower the frame bed on and 2 other norincos needed barrels. The face of the barrels were getting battered on the norks, but they always run/ran 100%-none of the others did.

All of the springers were out of spec in more than one place. The colt was out on the breechface and the frame.

After Johnny worked on em they were good to go,but I'm tired of spending the money buying one knowing with my luck,it's probably gonna have to be worked on to function properly.

All of my cz's and tanfoglio's have been right from the get go.

I really like the dan wesson cbob and may give one of those a chance.
