Espousing illegal vigilante gun violence (and in fact, espousing murder).

Why is it always those who support and advocate victim / citizen disarmament who are the first to support and espouse vigilante violence, and particularly gun violence, to satisfy their base carnal desires of retribution?

Cokie Roberts has a long history of supporting every citizen disarmament measure to ever come down the pike, and has zero understanding of the 2A (often quoted as saying "Why do you need an AK47 to hunt deer?").

Yet, she thinks that an accused child rapist should be taken out and summarily executed, rather than being given a trial for the crime.

"As far as I'm concerned, just take him out and shoot him."

These stories are so commonplace that the "Projection" theory is all but solidly proven at this point.

I'm a Second Amendment advocate and espouse retribution.

I know a gal just like her. Mid 20's New School Grad. Creative Writing degree...

Anti-gun, and incredibly uninformed.

She loves the show "Dexter", about a serial killer who works for the police. Dexter kills murderers without the bother of a trial, etc. This gal absolutely supports the murder of "guilty people" without bothering with due process, because why bother when they "clearly did it."

"But all guns should be confiscated, that way the cops wouldn't need guns and no one would be killed."

-Her words again.

:banghead:

If you mean *illegal vigilante* retribution, then I don't doubt you, but you should note:

1. Even so, your type is not any more *quick* to espouse same than this anti-gun type, it seems.

2. Even so, both types are "wrong", at least in the morality we've established by Constitution and law in the USA - our society grants liberal rights for the accused, for good reasons.

3. How does your post contibute to the discussion focusing on anti-gun people like Cokie, which is what this thread is about?

Well there ya go - I shudder to imagine what sort of rationalization mental gymnastics are required to reconcile those two things.

You have to understand who Cokie Roberts is. Her father was a crooked Demcratic Congressman from Loosiana. When he died, her equally crooked mother took his seat. Her brother is the number one political lobbiest in Washington.

She supports every left-wing idea and politician who comes down the pike. At one time, during the Clinton scandals, someone remarked the President was being a bad role model. Her knee-jerk response was, "Maybe the President shouldn't be a role model."

Think about that!! Every adult is a role model. You can't avoid it -- but you can choose whether you will be a good role model or a bad one.

Now, how can you expect logic and truth from someone who thinks like she does?

I'm allergic to her.

I remember her declaring, during a discussion during the V-Tech fallout, that guns on college campuses would lead to daily shootouts and a return to the ways of the OK Corral.

Few, very, very few people have a slimmer grip on reality than this lady.

Uhhhh....her name is "Cokie" and she looks like the Crypt Keeper. Come to think of it, I can't think of any big name pro 2A "journalists" that aren't on Fox News. I woulda said John Stossel until a few weeks ago or so. Can anyone come up with one?

Stossel is headed to Fox Business Network. I should have said Fox instead of Fox News I guess. Still...ABC/NBC/CBS/MSNBC, I can't think of a single one on any of those networks.

!?!?!?

I missed it.
What did he do?

ditto!

Oh pheeeew, for a second there I thought maybe he had changed positions. The things my mind was imagining him saying to support such a flip were horrifying.

BUT ITS FOR THE CHILDREN.....

I can't say it surprises me. I mean after all if someone is willing to ignore the peoples rights to firearms, why would they have a problem with ignoring our rights to a fair trial?

That is fantastic. I like when he completely takes down Al Sharpton. Hilarious. I really like Stossel. I don't care for ABC at all...but it was nice to have one guy on our side over there. I'm not surprised he went to Fox at all though. I'm sure ABC with their agenda was keeping the reigns tight on him over there.

At least he is staying with the only honest network.
He is a 2nd amendment supporter and I like him.
You had me worried he had gone anti. Don't do that! :D
