Local gun shop has a used single shot Yildiz TK36 410 gauge for $125. The thing looks ridiculous with a 28" or so barrel, but I'm intrigued because it's in a walnut stock and still incredibly light...wondering how light this thing would get in a synthetic stock.

Anyone have one? Worth the $125 as a conversation piece? Anyone shortened the barrel to 18" or so to save weight?

I have an o/u 12ga I bought years ago, for the price it is totally worth it. I beat the pants off my friends shooting skeet and they had high dollar shotguns. Paying a lot more money does not make it a better shooting shotgun, it is still on you. It is not cheap, just inexpensive. DSC_0971.jpg

I have to assume that the 410 is a single shot since it is only $125. Yes I would say it is worth it at that price since it is hard to mess up a single shot.

I’ve got a Yildiz .410 O/U.
I’ve been very pleased with it. It has 24”bbls so isn’t too long.
It has choke tubes, ejectors, and single selective trigger. Stock length and drop at the comb is correct for an adult, so it handles great and shoots where it points.
It’s my most used shotgun.

I would pass on the single shot however, Unless you like it as is…
The barrels are chrome lined and resists cutting for choke tubes to restore choke, unless you’re ok with a cylinder bore.

I have a Yildiz O/U 20 gauge... been a good shooting gun ... zero problems .... several thousand rounds through it ...

I am sure it won't hold up like any of the "B" guns ... but I can buy three or four for the B guns prices ..

Been using it in the dove fields .... happy so far

Anyone know if you can shoot 410 slugs in them? I know better than to try 45LC in a choked shotgun, but how about a 410 slug?

Yildiz guns have been getting some good press on the trapshooting forum. Even talk of putting their barrels on P guns. Much less bashing than on Tri Stars. One of my hs team girls is shooting a TS Viper and it is holding up well. Looks strangely like tiger 400 series Berettas.
I’ve never been a fan of the Turkish guns but have been getting my eyes opened and my knowledge broadened lately.

I bought a Gazelle brand 410 O/U back in 2007 for $500 and it has impressed me for what it it. I couldn't tell you who actually made the Gazelle shotgun other than it was made in Turkey. The O/U shoots, points and handles well and there is no slop between he barrels and receiver. Granted I will never expect a $500 O/U to compete with a Browning or Beretta as far as quality and longevity but I didn't pay high prices either. I only shoot an occasional round of skeet and some dove/quail hunting with the Gazelle and it dos fine for that.

I bought the the Yildez 410 with the long barrel last summer at the Academy in Longview TX. I think it was a 139.00 out the door. Its worth every penny and then some. I reload for 410 and own several. There's a young guy on Youtube who to prove his love of the piece shows his shooting prowess with various loading's.
Check it out, he's having fun, just like me. In summation, in todays firearm world, I can't think of anything matching the value for dollar as this one.
