Just had laser surgery to fix astigmatism and remove cataracts. So now its time to see what works the best with scopes and sights. Still need to wear reading glasses for up close but distance is 20-25. Have any of you gone through this and what do you use for optics now. Wondering if Now I have to use reading glasses up close, What optic is going to be the most forgiving looking through.

I have not had such procedures, but my older brother and his daughter have. For them it is miraculous. You won't really know what optic is best because everyone is different. Over the years my optic needs have changed along with shooting goals and new technology. It'll be a whole new world, which is really great. But, before you start buying new, give your old stuff a try.

I had cataracts removed from both eyes about 6 weeks ago. Lasers to blow up the lens, some magic to flush them out, and new lens inserted. I went from difficulty seeing the computer monitor (not reading, but seeing it) to 20/20 to 20/15 uncorrected - Results that would have been science fiction 20 years ago.

I am going to clear the the three month check, before any fun and gun games (plus it is August / September in SE Texas - the mornings are square...82 degrees and 82% humidity...it gets worse as the day heats up). I quickly played with a red dot, and it appears my astigmatism is gone. I will second @Sniper66, try what you got before running out to get new stuff....

I had both eyes done about a year ago, using corrective (but not progressive) inserts. Most magnified optics have +- diopter correction built into the oculars, so no special treatment was needed for me - I just readjusted the eyepiece for my newfound distance vision.
