and some of you know I'm crazy enough about the discontinued Master Craftsman to have some Modder built ones along with my two original Space Shuttle ones.

The Victorinox Ranger adds one more back tool the Master Craftsman doesn't have (cork screw) and doing that doesn't add another layer to the MC. So...I think the Ranger is a current production option for Master Craftsman fans and they're a lot less expensive than paying for a built or original MC.

I picked up a Ranger, I like having a SAK with a decent file on it. The only negative is the back tools are so heavily sprung, my thumbnail breaks before the tool opens, I have to use the tip of the tweezers to get the tools out.

I'm sure this is a great heresy, but I wish they'd offer a version with any other tool in place of the dang parcel hook.

Speaking of SAK's... Does anyone remember the movie The Double McGuffin?

Did that knife ever really exist?

I'd have to watch it again, but I think one of the kids had the biggest SAK ever!
