I'm not at all familiar with the BASC, but if it is anything like the video that OP put up from Holland & Holland, the membership might be cheap but you better be ready to bring your six-figure shotgun otherwise you maywill be shunned.

BASC is the UKs largest pro-gun organisation,which is a pro-hunting & pro-shooting,sports organisation,which has been mentioned by the UKs Gun Control Network,as being 'The British equiverlent to the American NRA' along with the UKs NRA,at the famous,historic shooting ground.
Yes, you will get shunned...lol...only joking.No,BASC welcomes all people from all walks of life,to take up shooting,to shed the image of a toffs or a middle-class,male-dominated,sport.They are also non-biased on types of guns too.I'm a member of them.

Only a person with character flaws will drink any amount of booze and handle a loaded firearm. If you have to justify it, you have a drinking problem.

Drinking is a pleasure. If you "have to drink" it is something else. Those who engage in it while shooting for pleasure are not the ones with a "drink problem". And usually those with "drink problems" have one big problem that boils down to a lack of self discipline and self control. Such people are often a menace - drinking or not.

This is a culture thing. It is and has been normal in europe and scandinavia (and elsewhere no doubt for the transplanted) for a long time.
