I went to the range today after shooting my CZ-452 SUPER BRNO SAA 2500 22 LR rifle for the second time. The first time out was after an argument with my wife so, enjoying the trip to the range was pretty much ruined from the get go. All I really did then was zero the rifle. I was able to spend some serious plinking time with the gun today. I was shooting remington bulk/brick .22 HP ammo that I picked up from wal-mart some time ago. I can't remember specifics about it since I had it in a tupperware container. I started out with clay pigeons at the 50 and 75 yard berms. It was all too easy. The pigeons on the 50 yard berm were propped up right on the target stands. This gun is crazy accurate even with iron sights. I was able determine where on the pigeon that I wanted the bullet to strike at 50 yards. I would start at the top and then shoot it on the left side and finished it off with either the third or fouth round. After finishing off those targets, I laid out more on them on the 75, 100 and 125 yard berms to make it more difficult. I had a blast. Once I got used to there the elevation settings on the mauser style rear sight should be for each berm, the pigeons were easy pickings. Lets just say I ran out of things to shoot at before I ran out of ammo. I shot at the peices to make smaller peices until there was nothing else to shoot at. I was very lucky to find this rifle off of www.gunbroker.com for 189.00. It is one of the funnest rifles that I've shot. I thought I would get bored shooting the CZ that I took my Marlin 1894C .357/.38 with williams fire sights with me to change it up a bit. I never touched the Marlin except to put it back up in it's case to go home. It's wierd to say this but, I felt almost at one with the rifle. Everything culminated down to the target, sights and trigger. My mind didn't even hardly register the SKS going off in the stall further down the fireing line. Here is a link to a pretty detailed write up about the CZ-452 SUPER BRNO like the one that brought with me today. I don't mean to sound snotty about this gun but it is a wonderfull and highly reccomended little gun.
