do you use your cheap gun because the HK is too nice? So who here use their HK for home defense gun or Which one?
I sometimes switch back and forth between USP45 and USP9, sometimes the P2000. It really makes the gun warm by keeping it under the pillow :D

My HK is the only pistol I own in an acceptable defensive caliber. You're darn right I use it as my HD weapon...that's the reason I bought it. It also fills my requirements of being utterly reliable and going BANG everytime I pull the trigger, so I don't have to worry about it letting me down at a critical moment.

He!! yes. Why lock up an ultra reliable proven performer in the safe and trust my life to a POS.

My carry guns are HKs (P7 or USPc40 in .357sig). My nightstand setup is a USP45Tac with MMC adjustable night sights, Vortex flash suppressor, and Surefire UTL + handheld Surefire E2D. If that doesn't get it done then I've got a Benelli M4 12bore as backup. The Benelli gets partial HK credit since it was imported under HK USA and has HK stamped on the receiver. Hows that for trusting your life to HK?

In rotating order, USP 45, USP Expert 45, USP 9 & P7M8 - they all see HD duty ;) Too nice to protect me & mine???? :scrutiny:

well glad I'm not the only one then.

Yes I see your point, some of us value our lives more than a mere couple hundred bucks price difference. Good stuff guys. :D

stainless 45 compact is my main defense weapon , it goes everywhere with me.i trust it that much!!,or one of my revolvers.(smith pre-locks) i also have a full size usp 45tac but i believe with the laws here it would be BAD to use that for self defense. its considered an assault weapon in a city of more than 100,000 pop.

My 2000sk is my primary CCW gun. It also plays a well defined role in HD, but it isn't the first option when things go bump in the night.

Why, on God's green earth, would you not want to use your most dependable gun if your life depended on it? Can you put a price on you or your loved ones life??? Seems like this shouldn't even be in question.

Your attorney's fees for both criminal and civil defense will make the loss of your HK seem like pocket change.

If you are found innocent, are you still out X amount of dollars in fees for protecting your own life?

Unbelievable...

Makes me want to paralize the crack head intruder instead of killing him...If my money is wasted and I have to suffer, make that POS suffer with me!

This isn't untrue, however:

Your encounter could be ruled a good shoot, and quickly, with no need for a lawyer.

Your homeowner's insurance may very well supply a lawyer to defend you in a civil suit for a HD encounter,
because the people suing you are after the money in the policy.

So, you know, best of luck to us all.

Usually a P7M8 but a P2Ksk has been put into the spot as well. I choose the squeezer becasue of it's ease of use, it's natural meachanics and it's safety. Also very darn accurate. Bought it to use not sit idle on a shelf.
