Your case lube

I've never bought actual resizing lube..I got some of the Lee stuff in the tube when I bought my kit,but when it was gone I tried household products like liquid soap, hand cream, and the sprayable auto wax,but the product that I find works the best for me is chapstick...I actualy like it a lot better than the Lee lube that I had..I have heard a lot of good reports on that Imperial sizing wax,but I never even think to pick any up,but I'm sure it's good stuff..

I use Hornady's Unique. It comes in a small resealable tub; apply with fingers, not sticky or greasy, and will likely last a long time.

I'm still using the tube of Lee that came with my press kit. That stuff goes a looong way.

what is the best case lube? I don't plan on reloading large amounts of ammo at a time. Thanks for your input.
I simply use regular RCBS case lube2. A small 2oz bottle is like $5 and lasts a VERY long time. It is also water soluble and safe for primers. This has worked great for me over the years, and my dies are all original with no wear to speak of. A couple drops rubbed out onto the lube pad, then I roll about 15-20 cases at a time through it and move on. Takes hardly any time and doesn't cost any money really because the bottle lasts so long. It also doubles as a good lube for the press itself and is better than many others since it is indeed primer contact safe.

Oh they also make a spray that's the same thing, but it's about twice the price and I've never found it to be much easier for me personally, but it is an option and many people use the spray method.

I've used almost everything listed above. I'm now using the homemade solution of lanolin and alcohol. It's the best that I have come up with.

Is alcohol safe to come into contact with primers? I don't believe lanolin harms anything but not sure about the alcohol.

I reload large rifle in small amounts. Usually 30 rds or less at a time. I use Lee resizing lube. Started off using it by itself but discovered a better way (found it somewhere on this site).
1tbsp Lee resizing lube + 1 cup clear alcohol in a spray bottle. Shake vigorously.

I have resized well over 100 cases and haven't used a third of it. IT GOES A LONG WAY and no cases even near stuck.

I have been trying to size 32/20 cases down to 25/20. I'm using One Shot and it doesn't seem
slippery enough. I would like to try this Imperial Lube who sells it?

If doing small amounts I just use my little tub of Hornady Unique and apply it to the case with my fingers as I transfer it from the pile to the shellholder.

I imagine that I would do the same with Imperial Sizing Wax if that had been available on the day that I bought the Unique. :)

Hornady Unique hand applied for a couple dozen rifle cases or a Ziploc bag sprayed first with Hornady One Shot then filled with many .45 or 9MM cases. Never had a problem.

I use Imperial Sizing Die Wax for small batches and heavy duty apps.
For high volume semi auto stuff, I use spray. The Dillon stuff is better than One Shot IMO. It takes a lot longer for One Shot to dry than it says on the label.
I'll probably try the home brew when I use up the One Shot.
Some say 90% isopropyl, others say red can Heat (methanol?).

Wow, this thread is showing a lot of love for One Shot. I think this is the first time I've seen it mentioned that some punster hasn't called it "One Stuck". Its also my favorite, BTW.

Zeke, I can see where One Shot isn't viscous enough for case forming. Along with Imperial, some straight anhydrous lanolin, applied with your fingers, will work too.

I've tried various lanolin sprays in the past. They are excellent lubes, but too hard to remove. I used to tumble in hot water and strong detergent to remove. They can be wiped off, but it takes a lot of pressure Too much trouble IMO...

When I first started loading years ago, I couldn't find Imperial Sizing Wax at the store, so I picked up some Hornady Unique.
I have been using it ever since.

Today's Helpful Hint:
Do not keep it in the garage and let it freeze.
It ends up kinda "curdled" even after it warms up and you try mixing it up again.

For small batches I use Hornady Unique. One tub will last a long time.
For Larger batches I use Iso/Lanolin mix. If you live near a Fry's Electronics or similar they sell 99.9% "Technical" grade Iso Alcohol in the computer component section.

99% or ISO Heet.

I have used a bunch of different ones and my favorite is the Lee wax lube made into a spray by diluting it with alcohol. Works great and doesn't stay sticky like lanolin does.

Imperial wire pulling lube works just the same.
