Hello. This one's worked well for me from a customized SMLE No4MkII. At the approximately 2600 ft/sec, the Sierra bullet "behaves" pretty well.
I only have one .303 Brit so I neck-size only.
Last season, I shot a fairly nice doe. The bullet entered high and in front of the left shoulder and exited behind the ribcage on the right side. One shot was sufficient.
Out of my rifle, this handload usually averages around 1 1/4" or a bit less @ 100 yards.
I use a 215gr hard cast with a heavy charge of ReLoader 12 and a filler and get 1860 fps with great accuracy . I just need a big critter to walk in front of the muzzle now .
But I can't run a lot of 180gr handloads through my little No5Mk1 Jungle Carbine, without getting a sore shoulder after a while. So I hit upon the idea of running a 123gr AK/SKS bullet on top of 44.0gr of IMR4895. Light recoil, good accuracy, and a kick in the pants for steel targets and small game. My wife likes to shoot this handload in the full-size SMLE, too. Looks like this when assembled:
