I think the first gun barrel opening scene was in the first Bond flic - Dr. No. I remember seeing it in the drive-in movies.

Thefumegator, Casino Royale came out several years later as a spoof of the already-produced Bond films in 1967. David Niven was Bond and Woody Allen was his son.

Best Bond movie: The Living Daylights. He gets the Aston Martin back, great snow chase scene, good plot, fantastic stunts hanging out the back of a C-130 in flight, Maryam D'Abo is not only gorgeous but can actually act, John Rhys-Davies is always worth watching, and they had the Pretenders on the soundtrack.

Best Bond: Timothy Dalton. The original Bond of the books was a dark, moody SOB and Dalton comes closest.

Best theme song: Gladys Knight's License To Kill. Runner up is Sheena Easton's For Your Eyes Only. Trivia bit: Easton is the only performer to appear on screen singing the theme during the opening credits. Rumor has it they actually considered giving her a bit part as a "Bond Girl".

Best Bond Gun: The P99. A workin' man's sidearm.

Best gadget: The speedboat in Moonraker.

Best climactic scene: The Spy Who Loved Me, when Bond frees the captured US, British & Soviet sumbarine crews. Very cool combat assault on the control room.

They actually used a real gun barrel for the Opening barrel sequence. They just pointed a pin hole camera down the barrel of a real gun.

It's not Connery in the barrel on Dr. No, it's a stuntman named Bob Simmons, Connery wouldn't do the sequence himself until Thunderball.
