First gun ever(too young to buy) was gifted to me by my father. It was a NEF 20 gauge single shot break action. First gun I purchased on my own was a Sig P229 .357sig. Scratch that Sig. I just remembered a dealer at a gun show in Lexington, KY illegally sold me a SKS when I was 15, he didn't check ID and I now know why. He charged me $200 for it.
Weird little falling-block Remington in .22 S-L-LR that had an annoying tendency to slip off the half-cock notch. Traded it and $75 for an PMC M1 carbine and a box of ammo.
M16, 45 1911, M60 machine gun, grenades. My uncle gave them to me when I was 17yo. He even sent me on a fun filled vacation to SE Asia when I hit 18.
After that I was hooked. Instead of buying savings bonds. I bought 2-3 S&W blue revolvers every year for the next 40 years for a extra retirement plan. Best thing I ever did.
I was about 8 or 9, and it was a single shot bolt action .22 rifle. I think it was a Sears, but that was a very long time ago, so I'm not sure. My grandfather gave it to me. I can't even remember what happened to it, but it's long gone now.
