Brand Spanking new Springfield Armory 1911A1 (Loaded Model ) Ive been chasing a 1911 for over a year now, couldnt find the one I wanted, unplanned trip to local gunshop changed all of that ..
So far this year:
Kimber UC SP II .45
Llama .380
Taurus 85 .38
Witness P .45
Cobra Derringer 9mm
Taurus PT101 .40
Yesterday: Rock River Arms Entry Tactical .223
Kimber Custom II Commemorative done during my last deployment to Iraq. The serial numbers are ICO185-XX to represent our Unit: I Company, 185th Aviation. The engraving is all nice, and the engraving on the grips is rendered from a picture taken of me flying the airplane a couple of years ago.
My first M1 Garand...Nov. 1942 SA from N.Store CMP, an letting a WWII Vet
hold it his hands for the first time since that war.....PRICELESS...but that story
is on another thread...
Too many favorites to list... but best purchase of 09' is probably my Dan Wesson 1911 PM-7 10mm.... Followed closely by my Desert Eagle and S&W M&P Magpul Edition and Steyr M9~!
My almost NIB Glock 27 for $150. Friend wanted to get rid of it before his soon to be ex wife. I felt guilty but he set the price and would not take more.
I didn't think so at the time, but I now consider my winner for '09 a new Glock 21 (stolen for $440 ) with replacement of springs, lightened connector, addition of a polished hardened steel guide rod and TiN extractor plunger, and the realization that loaded it weighs less than my Combat Commander and easily shoots as accurately. Shooting for over 50 years, reloading over 40, and it's my first Glock... won't be the last, either
best buy,and most satisfying gun purchase of the year was the 3 digit ruger 44 flattop that I bought at auction. Final bid. $400!!! Didn't think that was too bad of a deal at all. Have a great Christmas. dave
Taurus PT1911 ALR was the most satisfying, so far it has been flawless.
Least satisfying was a Sig P238...regret that one now, too many problems with it.
So hows that for irony- a Sig POS and an Excellent TAURUS!
