Your top 5 carry guns!

My defensive carry is pretty boring.

1. EC9s in front right pocket (strong side)
2. 16” ar15 in the truck behind the seat right inside the door
3. Charter undercover 38 small of back or IWB
4. 4” 10-6 worn on the belt right side standard barrel down vertical.
5. Taurus pt99af horizontal under left arm in a shoulder rig.

99% of the time it’s #1 and #2 because it’s easy. It’s what I do for work vehicle so 12 hours a day 5 days a week that’s it. If it’s cold and I’m wearing more or if I’m walking the woods then #4 comes out. If discrete carry is of utmost importance then it’s #3 (with #2 close) or if I’m in a spot where I only have access to a single gun then it’s probably going to be #5.

I bet most people don’t even consider long guns in this thread.

1911 in small, medium and large. My Glock 35 and 4' or shorter revolvers. Crossdraw due to strong side shoulder issues. Favorite is the 9mm Govt.

My 1911 is right on the verge but plays second fiddle to the model 10-6. Only because I’m more natural with a revolver than an auto. The holsters I have made for one or the other usually are pretty solid for the other one before I do final forming.

Considering this is in a Handgun sub-forum and I only carry concealed, you got me figured out.
I find it somewhat odd, even for THR to not talk long guns concealed but handy when talking “concealed”. It’s like people try to confine the term only to guns carried on the body concealed from sight. That’s not the limit of the term, and a gun in perhaps a glovebox may be more accessible than the pocket carried gun while you’re driving. A long gun is not as easily concealed on the body or off, but a defensive shotgun or carbine can be quite handy if thought is given to placement and means of carry.

I’m going off the OP’s thread being inspired by TFB’s top 5 pocket gun video. I didn’t see anything in the video or the OP’s first post about guns primarily transported in a vehicle.

If I had to count the times I sling a long gun over my shoulder when walking somewhere in my typical urban or suburban environment . . . well, that number would be zero. Which means it’s not in my top 5 carry gun list.

Agreed. I just dislike the “pocket gun” terminology. Subcompact or micro are better terms because given appropriately sized pockets anything can fit, or nothing can fit. And maybe I just felt like kicking the beehive and running away.

5?

Sig 365xl (my primary carry)
Glock 19 (honorable mention for a HK P2000 instead, they are about the same to me)
HK45c (for when I’m feeling .45)
Sig 229 (I need to get another)
Wilson EDC x9

I have some pictures around here somewhere…

In no particular order, I carry
Sig P938 - usually in pocket holster but sometimes IWB
Glock 43 - pocket holster
Glock 19 - IWB
Glock 17 - IWB
S&W 1911 5" .45acp IWB, sometimes but rarely OWB

Very happy with all of them. The G43 gets carried the most, G19 2nd most, but I carried the S&W regularly for a decade and still do on occasion

The cost for CC in IL-ANNOY is more than I care to give this state. I also prefer OC to CC although I have guns capable of both.
For OC, I have a 4" GP-100 in .357 with a custom made leather buscadero style rig.
For more concealed carry, I have a ~100 yo Colt 1903 in .32 ACP, an Astra in .380 ACP, and an SP-101 snubbie in .38 Special.
I don't have a 5th gun that I would "trust" for CC as it's a Colt Jr. in .25 ACP. The gun works flawlessly but it is a .25 - - -.
