Considering one of the yugo AK underfolders, anybody got anything good or bad to say about them before I order one.

Built on the best reciever ya can get and what I built all of mine on the NDS 1.5 mm thick and fully heat treated as opposed to 1 mm thick for all other european issue AKMs the Yugos wanted to launch grenades from their AKs without tweaking the reciever so went with a heavier reciever but as the ready built ones are built by CAI monkies ya wanna check for the usual CAI screwups like canted sights etc... Ya will most likally hate the under folder as it sucks for accuracy due to the design its almost impossible to get a decent cheek weld the fixed stock is much much better, The underfolder's only real benifit is the cool factor and it can be carried in a vehicle easier. However everyone who shoots one has the same comments regarding the underfolder stock.... it sucks

Thick receiver, new barrel, and a U.C. FCG. Probably the best buy on the market now. As close to a milled you will get without spending another $400.00 +. Some people have a problem with the stock, most don't.

I actually like the underfolder on my Yugo M70 and M95. It doesnt provide a poor cheek weld at all... It is a little long for me. The stock on the wooden fixed stock m70 digs into my cheek when I'm shooting. Typically though, regular AK stocks feel a little more comfortable then underfolders.

Ordered one of the yugo underfolders from SOG today, the people at SOG said that they were built on romanian recievers. Didn't make sense to me, was wondering if anyone can give me some insight on what they told me.

I bought one of the Century builds. The front sight block was canted, so I drove out the two pins and gave it a couple of good whacks with a rubber mallet and it straightened out. Then I noticed the rear sight was crooked. I had an extra one lying around, ground it a bit to fit and it seemed to fix the problem, but I always thought the sights were just a rch off. I finished the handguards (they came out great) added a brown bakelite pistol grip and brown leather Romanian sling. I sold it for a small profit. I will not order one of the Century guns again. I have a Polish folder built on a NDS premium receiver with all the compliant parts inside. I'll be getting that one next week. I spent an extra ten bucks on the Polish.

my dad just bought one not to long ago, and i have put about 200rds through it so far, and i love it, i wish he would do an even trade, my mak-90 which i love for the yugo or at least sell it to me but he won't.

try doing a search, because i posted a range report about a week or two ago on the yugo underolder of his.

but here it is again, plus a little more since i have shot it again since then.

1)it is fairely accurate, the sights did need to be moved, but that is normal, it is as about as accurate if not more accurate than my mak-90.
2)the fit and finish is excellent and was in like new condition.
3) recoil wasn't bad at all i was worried about the metal buttstock but those worries were nothing more than that because i soon found out that it was the least recoling ak i had ever messed with, those nice thick recievers.
4)because of the lessened recoil, follow up shots were easy even in rapid fire, and during all cqb work.
5) even with the stock folded under it still shot good out to about 25yds or so that was as far back as i could get on that partiular part of the range, it did great though and was like a big pistol, and still was easy to control.
6)they are really compact, and alot of fun just to see laying around with the rest of the weapons, they are nice and i sure do want one now.
7) i shot it doing cqb drills from 7-25yds, sitting, prone, standing at 50 and 100yds and it did great. every rd landed in the 5 zone which is exactly center mass of the e-type shilloutes i use. great gun and good shooting at that,
8) the only complaint was a little bit of trigger slap but that can easily be fixed with a new trigger, but once you get used to it it really dosen't bother you. but if i get one i think i will replace the trigger though!

I like mine alot, very high quality AK. I dont mine the folder as I do more gonzo plinking with it than anything. The recoil is better than my buddies WASR 10. I just wrapped some para cord around the "cheek" side of the stock to make it a little more comfy. I just got my duracoat camo kit and figure its a good gun to try it out on, after all you really cant hurt an AK can you?
