Not all I/O's are parts guns

My Yugo I picked up last weekend isn't. Lots of matching stamped numbers. The stock was quite rough. Look for matching stamped numbers on an I/O. Only had 100 rounds to fire--worked flawlessly.

Mine is 10, xxx A, which is only found on the stock and receiver.

My first SKS was a Yugo. Of course, the best way to buy one is to have it in hand to inspect it. Check for pitting or corrosion around the gas valve. Check out the condition of the gas piston and the operating rod. Check the fit of the gas tube. The Yugo does not have a chrome lined bore, which means if you're shooting older ammo, which may have corrosive components in it, clean the bore extra well. Even with non-corrosive ammo, clean.
I have also added a 1952 Tula SKS to my collection.

Assuming you were asking me--It is O 6127xx indicating a 1978 manufacture.

Yugo update

An update on I/O and other unissued SKSs:

At the Raleigh NC gun show on Saturday I examined a few Yugo SKSs. Of the three brand new guns I examined closely, here are the results:

-from the Assault Technologies gun table (IIRC)
-LOTS of sticky cosmo
-Matching numbers on action, bolt, mag cover, trigger guard
-two had I/O import marks, one had Cherry's (Greensboro) mark
-all had the brand new blond stocks
-asking price $150 (could get for $10-$15 less, IIRC)

Thus some of the I/O guns are _not_ parts guns and are brand new. I did not look too closely at many others, as I had little time. A fair number of decent used guns were there along with the new guns.

They are "pretty" as far as SKSs go!

I have an I/O yugo that I got about two years ago. Some of the parts are matching, like the stock, receiver, and mag, but the gas tube, bolt carrier and bolt don't match. It also has the tritium night sights. Sort of a parts gun?

Any one know what kinda accuracy you get at say a hundred yards with the yugo's i have 2 sks's already but considering another i have a russian wow that rifle is sweet!!!! And a chinese both were bought brand new and are in perfect condition i shoot them now and then what kinda accuracy do you guys get though with this rifle in inches or moa. Thanks
