I’m in the process of selling my home and the probable buyer came by for another look. He asked if I want to sell my 25 year old Amsec safe along with the house. I hadn’t really thought about leaving it but on reflection it’s not a bad idea. The safe is in a tight spot and will be hard for the movers to get to.

I looked at the current Amsec catalog and the model that’s similar to mine is now +/- $7,000; way more that I’m willing to spend. I’m thinking about replacing it with a Zanotti Z2 6ft for about $3,000. I like the idea of a modular safe for my situation. I’m moving to a prosperous, very small college town (5K population) with very little property crime. Not overly worried about being burgled but never say never.

So the question is does anyone have any experience or knowledge about Zanottis. Good or bad? Ease of assembly? Other thoughts?

I have looked at them in the past but never bought one.

Buddy and I were talking and I don't think either of us would buy a gun "safe" again. If I did, it would be the take down type like you are looking at. There are a few other makers which have a design like that also if you opt to go that way.

I will likely go with a lighter design and bolt it down.
