"Zero" Brand Bullets, Any Experience?

Not bad at all. Got me thinking..

My zeroes are actually 11.5 cents/per PLUS shipping, now that Ive done the math. Probably 12 or 13 with shipping, hadnt checked my invoice.

I use almost exclusively Zero brand.
I use them in 9mm, 10mm, .38spl/.357mag, .40 cal and .45. I load exclusively JHPs.

I have shot them into many different types of media and normally, they perform better than MGs. The exception would be their 185 gn .45s. I have not had luck with the .45 185 gn'ers
expanding. In my experience they go through my simulated gel with NO expansion.
EVERY thing else I've used from them works perfectly.

The MGs in the same loads described above have much more tendency to shed the jacket.
This is not to say they don't expand, they just shed.

Zeros are numero uno in my book for an affordable (very), quality bullet.

I doubt if a high volume consumer cares much about expansion or retention. Most of his bullets are likely used for plinking, practice, or competition.

They have a good reputation, but I live in Alabama and would have to pay sales tax.

Once upon a time, they would give you a big break on your first purchase, and it was smart to buy a lot. But if they still do, they are real quiet about it.

MG JHPs are also in my stock of good shooting bullets.
PDs JHPs aren't bad and they have lowered prices recently to 9.5cents shipped.

"Tater", I have the same affliction with stocked up bullets. I'm loaded quite a long ways ahead. That only hurts if/when you find a "better" load for that bullet.:D

Hey, P'head, better than that, I am in NORTH Alabama, Florence to be exact.
My main game is IDPA and I shoot most of the matches within a couple hours drive.

I have inventory on Zeros and MGs. That's all I use... JHPs all. I find that shot into water or sand, the MGs tend to shed their jacket 3 times as often.

I know, how many times do we defend ourselves against against water and sand... Great bullets both.

Just for what it's worth.

I have bought Zero Bullets from both locations in Cullman Al. in the 1980's and 2000 after they moved from Hwy 157 to SE Cullman. No shipping, pay cash up front at the office and get loaded up at the dock out back. Made the SUV sag a bit on my last load. First quality and great prices.

I have shot most of their bullets including their 124gr FMJ 9mm bullets and I feel they are very high quality. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in any cartridge.

Well, Im ready for the UPS man, good reviews here. I didnt know they were in Cullman..Can you buy factory direct still? Thats only about 45 min south of me.

OP,
I've shot a bunch of Zero's finished ammo and reloaded with their 9mm stuff. Good product.

Your description states "Rocket City". I assume that's Huntsville? Zero is located in Cullman.

Yessir. I just figured out they were in Cullman. Might have to take my old Chevy truck down there and load up. Ive heard there's a nice reloading store in Cullman too, though Ive forgotten the name of it.

Would like to know the name and address of the reloading store if I ever get back up that way.

They're crap. Bring them over to my house and I'll throw them away for you.

The place in Cullman is the Shooters Warehouse. I haven't been there yet but it sounds good to me. They had some pistol powder a couple of weeks ago.

Let me try to find it..Ive heard they usually have a good supply of powders too.

I think it may be called Vans outdoor. Whatever it is I believe they have a sister store somewhere, maybe in Miss.?

Van's is also in Cullman and full of good people. It's on the way to my parent's lake house down there so I try to stop in.

Tater, if you get off 65 at Hwy 69, turn left at the highway, then another left on Hwy 222 (about a mile up the road). Van's is a mile or two down 222 on the left. It's a good store but I haven't had much luck finding what I needed (they had everything else though).

Thanks Ten, I'll bring the fam and meet you up at the lake LOL!

Seriously though, they do stock powders, yea?

My pistols really like this load with the Zero 185 Gr JHP. My CZ 97 especially likes it.

All this talk got me in the loading mood....I just finished off about a thousand .357's topped with Montana Gold and placed an order for another 3750 case.

Vans was low on pistol powder last week, may have changed. Shooters warehouse had CFEpistol, titegroup and longshot, plus others last week. Sure are a bunch of North Al. folk on this site!:)
