I actually agree with one of the things they brought up.
I believe in mandatory sentences for people committing a crime with a gun, with a couple of ground rules. 10 years for the first offense, 20 years for a second offense. A third gets you life without parole.
But ... no plea bargains, no juvenile courts, no exceptions.
The same people here in Chicago that support gun bans are the same ones that show up on camera or in court weeping and wailing when a 14 year old is arrested and charged with holding up a 7 - 11 with a gun and beg for him to be sent to Juvie court for counseling and probation.
If the 13 year old junior gang banger knows that he is going down for ten if he takes the gun the 18 years old gangster hands him to hold, he may want to think twice about it. Either that, or they'll start to run out of 13 year olds pretty quick as they are sent up the river.
