It looks like those folks love Nugent, and he is a good showman, really knows how to control a crowd. Lot's of sucking up over there though.

I tried posting a message expressing my opinion, but apparently the automated process for signing up isn't so "automated". You have to wait for an admin to manually approve your rights to post message.

I'm all for letting him speak.

I can't imagine what he could say to undo the harm he's caused and my opinion of him.

It is disturbing how quickly Ted is to forgive him and put this all in the past. It reminds me of that Fisch (sic?) character on Ally Mcbeal years back.

"Nice rack, lady--bygones! You're a terrorist! bygones!"

The enemy of my enemy...Similar is true of friend of my enemy. Tread softly, Ted. You're a voice of the NRA, don't sell us out.

Man, by reading that forum you would think Nugent is Christ himself. I knew he was popular, however, I had no idea he had a religious-like following. He is a great ambassador for our cause so I guess it's somewhat well deserved.

Sindawe....

I tried registering on the Nuge site, but they aren't currently accepting Yahoo email addresses....can I impose on you to forward a thought/suggestion if you think that it makes sense?

IF Zumbo is contrite and really appears sorry for what he said and did....perhaps someone might suggest that as part of his attempt to return to grace, HE take up the sword and take a leadership role in educating hunters who currently oppose, or seem indifferent about, ownership of "non-traditional" (his version) rifles. He could serve a good purpose, if he used his hunting pulpit to educate those hunters who don't understand the dangers of limiting our right to keep and bear arms of ANY type. First he needs to learn the issue well, then he needs to spread it to his readership...

If you think that makes sense, would you consider posting the thought over there?

Thanks either way,

Michael

Hmmm

I am reminded of a short dialog:

OW! What did you do that for?
What does it matter? It's in the past!
Yeah, but it still hurts.
Yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see, you can either run from it or . . . learn from it.

I guess we will see, won't we.

It sounds like the members on that site are standing in line to follow Nugent in a love fest with Zumbo.

Zumbo isn't a 13 year old.
He knew exactly what he was saying and how damaging it would be to gun owners, and I believe he meant every word of it.

Since this is THR I can't express what I think of Zumbo.

I like Ted Nugent. Should be interesting. Though I can't imagine, at this point, what Zumbo could possibly say that won't sound like a pile of BS.

I just got my .02 in over there. I had to wait about 30 minutes to get posting privileges after signing up.

Most everyone posting there seems to have forgotten what happened less than a week ago and quickly forgot all the damage that's been done, especially giving the Brady bunch a new anti-assault rifle "expert" in our own demographic. I've never seen a huge company like Remington drop someone in 24 hrs time from (I assume mostly) emailed complaints, so it was definitely serious in their eyes.

People really do have short attention spans. I guess politicians take advantage of that short term memory too and swap around their viewpoints to garner votes.

I hope everything gets settled out of this with a happy ending but I'm a pessimist at heart. I like the Nuge, but I have a feeling a lot of people in there are star worshipping "yes" men that don't want to go against the grain because I hardly see any no's while just about every other gun-related forum is outraged.

If Zumbo has a brain in his head he will pull a Jimmy Swaggart.

Cry a little, admit his "sins", beg for forgiveness and go back to raking in the money.

Works every time.:(

He's already stated his position clearly and succinctly and we all got the message he sent.

He's an elitist snob hunter who believes that the 2nd Amendment is about hunting and owning traditional, wood stocked, bolt action hunting rifles and anyone that doesn't shoot with that kind of rifle, and hunt with it, should be considered a terrorist and their weapons banned in order to keep his beloved bolt action rifles and his beloved sport safe.

In other words, he's a Fudd. He's masqueraded as a friend, but now, due to tiredness, he's let the truth slip out in an unguarded moment.

I mean, what can he say? "Whoopsie, I was just kidding!". Or maybe "Nevermind!". Or how about "Excuuuuse Meee!".

Someone on another board likened him to an old Russian folk tale about riding in a horse drawn sled being followed by a pack or hungry wolves. In order to keep the wolves from getting you a baby or young child is tossed out to keep them occupied while the sled, with you on it, escapes.

Zumbo tried to toss everyone who owns a military pattern, semi auto rifle, off the sled. He's an enemy of gun owners, an enemy of the 2nd Amendment, and as far as I'm concerned there's nothing he can say to convince me otherwise.

Was this about what everyone would like to see over there?
I can't imagine how Mr. Zumbo will rehabilitate himself and make up for the damage he has done to all of our 2nd Amendment rights, but I'm willing to hear what he offers as his penance for redemption. His challenge will be as great as a pedophile coach’s claims of recovery after being flushed from your child’s locker room, but should he be believable and earnest and he dedicates himself to untiring effort he can be a great force for awakening the hunters and shooters to the threat to all our firearms rights.

I really like uncle Ted, I hope he doesn't sell us out

I'm an old rocker ..I am praying Ted doesn't let me down.
I am pretty queasy about him having Zumbo on his site.

I feel it is to late for Zumbo, he gave the brady bunch to much ammo.

Rest Easy

If Ted Nugent sells us out...I will be forced by circumstances to come forward....look at history, when an ordinary man has had to do it.......I will.

Campers, it just doesn't matter.

Now, I'm an old fart. So's Tom. So's Ted.

We're polite. Rockers, but polite...

We try to assume the best about people. Unlike the Jackass/MTV/ADHD generation. So, PLEASE cut us some slack, okay? Let's let time play, and see what happens...

Well, I used an M1 and an M16....

I have not seen anything to top what I have done in real life.....so sue me

Well, I'm a middle aged fart, and a rocker(what ever that has to do with 2A rights) and Mr. Zumbo has made it perfectly clear where he stands on the issue.:fire:

What's that old saying...Oh yeah... With friends like that, who needs enemies.

All the back pedaling in the world will not take away the harm he has caused. Do you think he would have changed his tune if he had not taken a hit directly to his wallet? At least he is out in the open where he can be watched. :neener:
