Another advantage of carrying in the
non-cargo pocket is that you can have your hand in it,
already on the gun, without appearing threatening. It takes a series of obvious, unmistakable motions, as well as time and both hands, to draw from a cargo pocket.

I think RC might be using a bit of hyperbole
, but he is essentially correct. Guns, or any other relatively heavy object, do swing, flop and beat against your leg. The cargo pocket is good, however, for wallets, keys, small flashlights, cell phones, etc., especially since you've already taken up one entire pocket for the gun.
