That looks like nice country, 35 Whelen. I didn't know what North Texas looked like. There are more trees than I would have thought. That's a nice Bisley, too.

Looks like it killed it deader than last week's leftovers.

You do know, if you kill it, you have to eat it. That's the code of the west*

Monac,

You should come visit. I'll bet you would be welcomed.
Oceans. Forests. Mountains. Deserts. Rivers. Scrub brush. Snow. 105 degree days.

Some part of this great state will have anything you're looking for!

I'd like to see it someday, sgt127, but I live in Wisconsin and I haven't even seen North Dakota yet!
North Dakota? Ummmm, to see what exactly?

If you want to see something worth seeing, check out the Black Hills in SOUTH Dakota. Very gun friendly place. Very pretty.

Him: "Hey Honey. I'm gonna have to get a new chronograph."
Her: "What happened? Did it stop working? Can you get it fixed? Does it just need a new battery?"
Him: "Well, umm, Honey, it was like this: I sorta shot it to pieces."
Her: "You must have been tired after shooting all day, you poor thing, and had a little lapse of focus."
Him: "Well, umm, Honey, it was my (mumbles) second shot."
Her: "Whad jah say, Dear?"
Him: (Clears throat) "I said, um, it was my second shot."
Her: "Your second shot...I see...Well Dead-Eye, do ya think money just grow on trees?!?"
Him: "I, um, well..."
Her: "What's it gonna be Ol' Sureshot, ya thinkin' we're going put little Amy in the pawn shop again like when we needed the new ice box, huh? I don't think so, Tim!!

I kid. :D

Thanks, it is beautiful. It's funny how you think you know what a particular are looks like when you drive through it, but you leave the road and see it's entirely different.

That'd be nice, but by the time I paid tax and freight I'd have the equivalent of 7 of the chronographs I destroyed. I've owned a couple of chronographs with remote sensors a d really lile them, but honestly they're a pain for me to set up. Units such as the CED are easy as I just leave them on the tripod and carry them in and out of my shop when I shoot. In fact I pretty much just leave it outside unless there's a chance of rain .

As far as eating what your shoot is concerned, it would take A LOT of Barbecue Sauce to make that Chronograph taste good :).

Just my .02,

oooh.. never been there myself, but I've seen it happen. was at the range and a guy was there working up loads. brought out a nice new chrono, right out of the plastic. set it up, checked it a few times, and was very careful. then got set with the rifle, and completely forgot the scope is a lot higher than the barrel.

poor thing took a 308 point blank without ever recording a velocity.
